About The Project
Project Overview
The ‘Ship Tip’ series is available on the ShipStation website as a quick way to access help with the platform. These videos take the merchant through a primary in-app feature that can be used to expedite their warehouse shipping process. There are over 50 videos in this series.
Technology & Collaboration
Camtasia is used to create screen captures. ‘Talking Head’ portions are outsourced to a third-party company. This series was developed with the assistance of Sales leadership to provide answers to common questions of merchants using the platform. Scripts are created in-house and peer-reviewed before filming. Videos are published on ShipStation University using SkillJar.
Design
Each video is created to be 1-4 minutes maximum to keep a merchant's attention looking for a quick overview of a product feature. These videos use a mix of ‘Talking Head’ visuals and in-app screen capture. Videos are all designed to be watchable individually, but many are repurposed for comprehensive user education. For example, an overview of inventory features video may be watched alone but is also part of a ShipStation University program on inventory,
Analysis
Videos are analyzed on two primary metrics. The view count on individual videos gives us a better understanding of overall merchant interest in the subject. Course abandonment and completion rates on long-form ShipStation University courses allow us to measure learner engagement.
All video scripts are created to assist the designer creating the screen capture material and the voice-over talent.
