About The Project

Project Overview

The ‘ShipStation Certification Program’ is the official 3-tier certification course to learn about and prove proficiency with ShipStation software. The project was designed to incentivize users to educate themselves about the platform to ease volume for the Sales and Support departments. The program was then expanded company-wide and is used to onboard new employees in product training.

Technology & Collaboration

The project uses SkillJar as publishing software and Articulate for content creation. Videos are created using Camtasia. ‘Talking Head’ video portions are outsourced to a third-party company. Graphics were created in photoshop under the supervision of the marketing department. This project was evaluated by the ShipStation, Sales, and Marketing departments before launch, including a full-scale beta program.

Design

Articulate lessons were added to Skilljar courses using IFrame. IFrame activity allowed learners to access their ShipStation accounts for some exercises and answer quiz questions using work done within their account.

Learners are encouraged to complete the course but can ‘test out’ of the course if they desire. Additionally, Merchants are allowed to access the course non-sequentially. We aim to allow learners as much freedom as possible to self-pace their education.

This course was designed to appeal to a diverse set of learners. I felt it was crucial to include text, video, and interactive elements to appeal to neurotypical and neurodivergent learners.

Analysis

Skilljar analytics and Looker are measuring several factors, including course completion and abandonment, as well as conversation rates for certification VS noncertification learners cross-checked with other factors such as; engagement with sales agents, plan type, etc.
